Brief Answer:
yes you can

Detailed Answer:
Hello, thanks for posting in healthcaremagic.

Running nose is a sign of mild upper respiratory tract infection with virus generally flu virus. Sometimes this infection can also lead to fever cough and poor appetite. But generally there are not much to concern about, child's body fights against the virus till the virus is defeated and body becomes well again. This usually takes 5-7 days.

As for treatment only symptomatic treatment is required like paracetamol for fever and cetrizine for cold. Good protein rich food and rest is all that is required. Antibiotics are seldom required.

I will start cetzine syrup 4 ml once daily at bed time in such cases. It is recommended that you discuss with your doctor before starting it. Can also use otrivin XXXXXXX nasal drop if child is having problem in breathing particularly at night due to blocked nose.

Your child will get well soon. Please dont worry.
