Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I went through your details and foremost, I wish your daughter gets well soon. Now, there are a few suggestions which I have to offer. Please discuss with your treating doctor.
1. Since the symptoms are wide spread across multiple body system, this is more likely to be a viral, then bacterial infection. However presence of 8-10 pus cell is significant. I would order urine culture and sensitivity test to understand the type of bacteria (if any) and the sensitive antibiotic.
2. If Taxim is prescribed for urinary infection, then it is not the most desired antibiotic, unless proved on culture / sensitivity test. I guess it was started to treat respiratory infection; but we may consider a common antibiotic for both respiratory as well as urinary bacterial infection if deemed necessary.
3. Loose stool is more likely due to infection and should settle down assuming this is a viral infection. In addition to econorm XXXXXXX I will also suggest 'Z & D' syrup for added benefits. I will also encourage her to drink oral rehydration fluid (ORS) after every episode of diarrhea.
4. Meftal P is effective in controlling fever. However I will advice against liberal use of Meftal P. It should be used only if temperature goes above 103 deg F. It may cause gastritis which inturn could aggravate vomiting.
5. Cough and cold syrup (kufril and cetrizine) will take a few days to start acting. If cough persists despite these medication let me know.
In a nutshell, I will suggest you discuss about urine culture - sensitivity test. Continue the prescribed medication. Discuss about starting oral rehydration fluid, z and d syrup along with vomiting medication if necessary. Her pediatrician will know about all these.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarification.
