What Does This Ultrasound Report Of Liver Indicate?
Question: Hi Sir,
I am XXXXXX My US report says slight decreased hepatic span with decreased hepatic span with minimal coarse hepatic echotexture & simple hepatic cyst measuring apx 15x15 mm. small calculus in GB apx 06MM. my sgot is 84u/l, sgpt 50u/l, gtt 96u/l, HBA1c 7.1. I am non-alcoholic. I never had hepatitis. I am overweight. please advice

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:
1. Simple cysts can be present in liver. Only when it cause symptoms (size more than 4 cm) like abdominal pain, then treatment is necessary.
2. Ultrasound findings also are showing fatty change of liver. It’s related to obesity. It is Non alcoholic fatty liver disease.
3. Gall bladder, small calculus, not to worry for now if no symptoms.
4. Enzymes elevated due to fatty change.
Weight reduction, low fatty diet is essential. Still it is reversible.
Need to concentrate on weight reduction, moderate exercises and fiber rich diet.
Followup ultrasound for cyst size changes or further calculus formation necessary

My Ht is 176 cm & Wt 87Kg.Is my ailment due to overweight. I have been advised ursocol 300 twice daily for 15 days & fibroscan.
Can I take following med in above condition:
1.acelofenac with paracetamol(mecofen P) 1bd x 5days
2.pantoprazole(placid) 40mg 1od x5 days
3.deflazacort(omecort) 6mg 1od x5 days
4.calcium citrate with calcitriol(ometrol) 1od x5 days
