Question: I got my X- Ray Report and the reports that there is mild tenting of the left hemidiaphragm. The right hemidiapragm and both costophrenic sulci are intact. Aorta is tortuous. The tracheal air column is at the midline. The visualized bony structures are unremarkable.

Brief Answer:
Xrya is almost normal, Though i would like to know your symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to Health Care magic, I am Dr , Muhammad Ahmad , I have read your question closely, I understand your concern and will be helping you with your health related problem.

Your report is almost a normal Xray there are tow things worth considering here :
1) Tenting of left hemi diaphragm:
This is very non specific it might just be normal or might be due to some underlying cause for which I would need to know your history, what are the problems your are facing and why did you get your X.ray done?

2) Tortuous Aorta:
It is usually difficult to provide accurate, size , shape and contour of aorta the largest vessel coming out of heart, it can usually mean two things:
A) Aorta is enlarged. This needs attention.
B) Aorta has more bends then one would expect, this is common in elderly people.

What I can advise you about aorta is that you can ask your cardiologist to review the Xray , if he finds something alarming he can get high end tests like echcardiography, CT scan or MRI done , X.ray chest is just an indication, it can not surely tell if there is a problem but if your cardiologist thinks that too then he can do a work up regarding that.

Rest of the Xray is normal.

I hope this answered your question, If you have more queries I am happy to answer you.
Regards.

Hi Dr. XXXXXXX

Thank you for your reply. Answer to your questions on "Why did I get my Xray done." The Xray was part of my annual checkup. Unfortunately, since I got the results of my annual check, I have not seen or consulted any doctors to discussed the results as yet. I would like for you to review the results if this is possible. Please let me know if it possible so that I can upload the results. I am a bit concerned about my aorta because I started feeling as if I have heart palpation on my chest or feeling discomfort. However, breathing is normal and no pain.

Thank you. XXXXXXX XXXX
