Brief Answer:
Can be due to stiffness.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The sprain and partial tear of the ligament that you have suffered needs proper rest of at least 4- 6 weeks for proper healing. All painful movements need to be restricted and weight bearing on the knee also has to be avoided to give rest to the joint. The persistent pain that you have can be related to the joint stiffness or mild post traumatic arthritis. This needs regular hot compress local analgesic gel and regular physiotherapy exercises after the brace is removed to regain the full knee strength and mobility.
I hope this answers your query.

Brief Answer:
Can be due to inflammation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The pain can be due to mild inflammation. it may not be related to healing. Doing hot packs will increase blood flow and thus help in reducing inflammation.
Hope my answer is helpful.
