Question: Hi Doctor,

My wife and I are trying to concieve and it was recommended by our Doc to have a semen analysis.

I recently had a semen analysis done. Can you let me know how to analyse it? I'm concerned about the PUS cells and RBCs. What do they mean? What do I need to do?

Brief Answer:
infection.

Detailed Answer:

Hello Mr XXXXXXX,

I have read your query and i will say that pus cells and RBC means the infection.

You should have undergone culture and antibiotic sensitivity of semen.
Then you will be prescribed antibiotic for a full course.

If you do not want to go for culture then i will recommend tab cefopodoxime.

Take multivitamin antioxidant combination once a day.
Avoid smoking and alcohol.

Your BP, sugar level and thyroid profile should be within normal limits.

You must take tab speman 2 tablets two times as these are proven to improve all semen parameters.

If you have any further query then you can come back.

Regards.

Brief Answer:
Antibiotics.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Mr XXXXXXX,

I have gone through your report. As you can see there are pus cells 2 to 4 and RBC also i suggest to take tab cefpodoxime and this duration is sufficient to clear any infection.. Note that antibiotic only for 7 days.

Secondly the active motile is 40 % and morphologically active is 50 %.

When the infection will be cured there will be some improvement in these parameters.

But you should also take any multivitamin antioxidant combination as Health ok or Rx plus once a day.

Add tab speman tablet.

Both these are good drugs to give improved parameters of semen. I have seen good results in my clinical practice also.
Your BP or sugar level should be normal.

With these things follow the advice which i have given in the previous reply as avoiding smoking, alcohol, tight undergarments.
Avoid hot showers.

And the last tip is that do sex only once per night.
You will be able to impregnate your wife.
