Brief Answer:
you must take folic acid and vit B12

Detailed Answer:
hello,
I am Dr.Rajesh Teli,MD.
I have gone through your query. Thanks for using HCM.
Basically increased level of Homocysteine is associated with premature atherosclerosis i.e. deposition of Fat in arterial wall at young age. This increases risk of heart attack and stroke at young. The treatment is simple. It is with folic acid and vit,B12
In market various preparations are available viz.Homochek or homocyst etc.You should take it once a day for life time.It is just vitamins...after about 6 weeks of treatment you may recheck the level and it will return to normal. You should also take care of other risk factors if present.
I would like to know why did you get homocysteine level checked ?It was advised by a doctor ? or you have family history of stroke or heart attack at young age and you got it done for check up?
My best wishes
Dr.Rajesh Teli,MD
