What Does The Absence Of Periods After Medical Abortion Indicate?

default
Posted on Mon, 6 Apr 2015
Question: Hi about a month ago I had a medical abortion. I immediately started taking the pill after this. The month had since finished and was expecting my period, but nothing happened. Has something gone wrong or am I paranoid or is it something else? Thanks

Brief Answer:
Your periods are delayed due to hormonal variation

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

I read your query and I understand your concerns about delayed periods.

Following is my reply:

1) There is change in hormones during pregnancy which take about 3 months to normalize after abortion.

2) Hence your period will be delayed.

3) Taking pills wont help so soon. Periods are going to be delayed.

4) Please wait for a month without any pills.

I hope I answered your query. I will be available for any follow up query you have.

Regards,
Dr.Soumya
