Brief Answer:
Ask your doctor for pain medication

Detailed Answer:
Dear Mr. Costello

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I am sorry to know about your condition. In the image I see a thoracostomy tube in place. It is supposed to gradually help the lungs re-expand without a problem. The problem should get relieved soon and thereafter the tube is likely to be removed. Although the initial healing should be done in a week, it might take a month or more for full recovery to occur.

About the pain, it is likely to have association to the structures damaged in the process or could also be related to the surgery. Please discuss the situation with your treating physician so that he might be able to administer proper pain-relief medications.

Brief Answer:
I would not suggest a stronger strength

Detailed Answer:
I think that the strength is rather high. So I would not suggest a stronger strength. Still, you can talk to some doctor concerned with pain treatment.

Number of options available to choose from

I would suggest combination medicines rather than high dose of a single one.
I am not a specialist in the field, so talking to a pain specialist should be a good idea.
