Brief Answer: Answer given below Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for posting your query. I am Dr.Ratnakar Kini and I am pleased to assist you. Patulous GE junction can cause GERD. If you have symptoms of GERD, you need to take a course of PPI like omeprazole. In addition to that certain lifestyle/dietary changes are also important. 1. Weight reduction if obese 2. Avoid coffee, citrus fruits, tomatoes, fatty/spicy food 3. Avoid eating full stomach 4. Go to bed at least 2-3 hours after taking food. But you should know patulous GE junction does not get corrected with medications. I hope that answers your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr.Ratnakar Kini

Brief Answer: Answer given below Detailed Answer: Hi, Long term PPI can cause osteoporosis and is a worrisome effect in elderly patients only. If there is no relief with PPI and lifetsyle changes, then reevaluation with a 24 hours pH monitoring test should be done. I hope that answers your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Brief Answer: Answer given below Detailed Answer: Hi, This is only an online consultation site where second opinion is sought. We do not have the option of examining the individuals. Prescription should be done only after examining the patient. From the attached endoscopy report, I can make out you are doctor (Hope medical doctor). So I will go ahead giving the prescription. You can consider taking C.Nexpro -L once daily before breakfast. I hope that answers your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr.R.K

Brief Answer: Answer given below Detailed Answer: Hi, As per your endoscopy report, you have lax lower esophageal sphincter and it is confirmed with esophageal manometry. This can predispose to GERD. If there is no relief with Rabeprozole-L and dietary/lifestyle modifications, then reevaluation should be done with 24 hours pH monitoring test which I have mentioned in one of my earlier posts. If medical management does not provide relief, then surgery can be contemplated. I hope that answers your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr.R.K
