Question: Good morning I was complaining from my right side just under the rib cage about a week ago that's why my doctor advised me to do ultra sound which showed a hepatic hemangioma 12 mm . He told me not to be worry it is very common but i already can't imagine that i have something stucked on my liver so he advised me that i can make Multi slicer triphasec ct abdomen scan & Alpha fito protien blood test . The CT scan report is (attached) pls check it & the AFP test is 1.88 ng/ml . Which is normal as i see the ref range . What is your opinion ? Should i be worried ? Is it easy for the CT scan man or Dr to recognize the hemangioma from cancer ? What i am supposed to do in the future ?

Brief Answer: There is nothing you should worry about.... Detailed Answer: Hi, I have gone through your medical history and the uploaded reports carefully. I repeat the same thing that your doctor told you: There is nothing you should worry about. Hemangioma is very common and I think it has been there for many years. As long as the Ct-scan and Alpha feto protein resulted normal, it means that you should not worry about any severe problems such as cancer. The size of your hemangioma is very small, so, there is no fear for rupture. There is no need for further follow ups specifically for hemangioma. It does not need following up. Hope it answered to your queries! Let me know if you have additional questions! Dr.Klerida

Brief Answer: It is very easy to identify hemangioma from cancer Detailed Answer: Hi, There is little chance to misdiagnose hemangioma. Furthermore, you have already run Alpha feto protein and Ct-scan testing which resulted normal. They are the main tests to clearly distinguish hemangioma from cancer. Rest sure for this! Once again, hemangioma is the easiest hepatic pathology to be diagnosed by ultrasound and confirmed by Ct-scan and alphafeto protein. Take care! Dr.Klerida
