Posted on Tue, 31 Jan 2017
Question: Hey Doctor, For a pregnancy...if the original due date was January 11th and now has been moved up to Janaury 5 how can that be possible. Also does that mean the date of estimated conception has been changed? She was 8 weeks and 1 day pregnant from April 5th 2016. Ultrasound scan was done on XXXXXXX 2 2016 which stated she was 8 weeks and 1 day pregnant at the time . Can you explain to me what could've change the due date and what are the possible And probable Conception Dates

Brief Answer:
Do not worry. Baby is fully grown and matured.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Dr. Purushottam welcomes you to HCM virtual clinic!
Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully gone through your query, and I think I have understood your concern. I will try to address your medical concerns and would suggest you the best of the available treatment options.

1.First of all do not panic.

2. If I am not wrong, I understand that you are mentioning about the expected due date changes as per sonography reports.
Is it correct?

3. From your history, her LMP was April 5th 2016,
and your first USG scan on XXXXXXX 2nd reveals pregnancy of 8 weeks 1 day; which corresponds to her LMP.

Usually, this USG between 6 to 10 weeks is considered reliable for dating and calculation of expected due date.

As per this USG and LMP her due date of January 11th is to be considered right.

4. If USG is done after 30 weeks of pregnancy, as per the growth of the baby, the sonography machine calculates due date , which can be different.
And this can very with USG done again.

5. So please do not worry. Due date is not changed as such, but the calculation of the machine changes as per baby size and baby's body measurements.
It is the overall maturity of the baby that matters now. As she is 39 weeks 2 days by dates now, the baby is at term and matures ; so do not worry at all.

Things will be fine in due course of time.
Trust fully in your treating doctor.

May GOD bless you with a bundle of JOY!

Brief Answer:
pregnancy not possible during menstrual cycle. DNA test can be done later.

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.
I have understood your concern. I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

First of all do not panic.

As you might be aware that in a woman with regular cycles day 10 to 20 of the cycle is the most fertile period of cycle. If you happen to have unprotected sex act in the fertile period of cycle, then there is possibility of getting pregnant.

Woman can't get pregnant, if she has sex activity in and around the days of menstrual period. During menstrual cycle, her lining of the womb starts getting shed out. And before and just after menses , this lining is not prepared to accept the pregnancy.

Plesse get these facts cleared with your female partner. Still , if there is confusion or disagreement, paternity can be tested after baby's birth by doing genetic DNA tests.

I hope this answer helps you.

Thanks.
