What Does My Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?

Question: 46 Years old Had Ultrasound. Showing Uterus as 9.3 * 5.1 * 5.1 Anteverted .9 cm Subserosal fibroid, Diffusely Heterogenous Myometrium. Right Ovary not found. Left Ovary 4.5 * 5*6.3 cm, Complex cystic areas with mural nodularity and internal echos measuring 3.5 * 3.5 * 3.9 cm and 2.6 *2.1 *4.3 cm unclear if they communicate. My Dr this not explained this to me . Have appt next week. Please explain what this means so I can be prepared.

You have most likely ovarian tumor.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

1) Your uterus dimensions are normal but you have a small fibroid there which does not need any treatment as its very small (0.9 cms).

2) Your left ovary is larger than usual because there is a mass growing in it which can be a ovarian tumor. This needs further investigation like TUMOUR blood tests- CA-125, LDH AFP, HCG.

I suspect you have a ovarian tumor which needs to be further investigated as told above and also a CT scan or MRI will give a clearer picture.


The tumor will most probably need to be removed surgically.
