Brief Answer:
Please provide details, walamycin may be needed

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

You have mentioned that stool shows pus cells.
I would like to know why the stool test was advised?
Is there any increase in stool frequency?
What are the other complaints?
Is your baby on breast feed or formula feed?
Walamycin is an antibiotic and presence of pus cells in stool indicates some infection.
If symptoms are also suggestive of infection in stool walamycin will be helpful.
So I request you to provide details so that I better able to help you out.
Waiting for your response.

Yes free frequency of the stool is more..likely about 14 to 15 times in a day.. Before passing stool she cries a lot and twists her body. After passing the stool she feels relaxed i.e she doesnt cry anymore.. The baby is breastfed.. She also has dry cough and sneezing.. And since yesterday her cry sounds likr scratchy as if she is having sore throat.

Brief Answer:
All these symptoms are suggestive of some viral infection

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back

Pus cells of >5/HPF is considered to be significant and suggestive of bacterial infection.
In your case it is borderline 5-6/HPF.But presence of other symptoms like cough, cold with loose stool goes more in favor of viral infection.
The main aim of management is to prevent dehydration so I would suggest you to increase the frequency of feeds and watch for frequency of urine(at least 5-6 times a day).
Crying and twisting of body can be due to the colic and in this condition colic drops will help.
Although in viral infection antibiotic doesn't help much, but considering 5-6 pus cells in stool I would like to give walamycin(an antibiotic) for benefit of doubt.
Nasal saline drop and drops containing antiallergic like chlorpheniramine with decongestant like phenylephrine will help if cough/cold is significant.
Watch for her oral acceptance, irritability, lethargy or decrease urinary output and if you notice any abnormality consult your pediatrician immediately.
I hope this helps.
Please do ask if you have any more doubts.
Regards
