What Does My Fetal Echo Test Result Mean?

Question: Hi, I had a fetal echo yesterday at 22w2d and BPD was in the 7th percentile but all other measurements were in the 29th percentile or higher. What does this mean???

Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
A fetus is considered normal if the measurements are between 10th and 90th percentile. In your case the BPD is on a slightly lower side. This is suggestive of a slightly smaller head. Small heads can run in families. Just as large heads can, they don't always mean anything is wrong. It doesn't provide any indication to actual brain structure.
It can also happen if the head of the baby is too low in pelvis- may cause a faulty measurement. A follow up scan will help in further evaluation.
