Brief Answer:
Treatment usually required for long term

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mrs xxxxx,
Thanks for your query.
I appreciate your efforts for medical consultation in so much distress for your husband.

Important aspects of your query are:
• 47 year old male
• Psychological problem for 1 year
• Reports blood tests & Brain CT Scan plain.

In chronic (Like 9 years duration problem) Psychiatric illness treatment usually required for long term for several years.

Partial response with treatment (Residual symptoms in your husband case: Feeling lost, forget things and unwanted things to people around him) is also a indicator for long term need of the treatment.

The cause of psychiatric illness is usually neurotransmitters or chemical imbalance in brain. In such cases investigations like blood tests and CT brain are usually within normal limit.

So, in my opinion continue treatment of your husband in nearby psychiatrist supervision.

I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
Wish you good health.
