What Does My MRI Scan Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Wed, 4 Feb 2015
Question: I had a grade two muscle strain 4 months ago in my hand They did an MRI that said other than that everything looked good my Dr looked at the MRI disc and diagnosed a right hand sprain and grade 2 muscle strain. I keep being told by company doctors that I should be better by now and except for a little bitty muscle strain nothing is wrong but I have had severe pain all the way to my elbow and a month ago when I started therapy I couldn't even unroll a stick with a string around it . Now I feel that I am about 80 percent healed pain comes and goes but why am I still in pain at all and not healed all the way? I'm thinking that they paid the MRI place to live on my report and give me a fake MRI disc

Brief Answer:
Can be a nerve irritation or tendonitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Muscle strain usually heals in 4-6 weeks with adequate rest and medicines. It is very difficult - practically not possible to get a fake MRI report as the examination can be cross checked by a repeat MRI and they can be proven guilty easily.
The pain that you have can be related to a nerve irritation or tendonitis. A repeat MRI can help in detecting such changes. Getting a nerve conduction velocity test will also help. It is best to consult a neurologist for the same.
I hope this answers your query.
