default
Posted on Fri, 5 Sep 2014
Question: I got an EKG while having a panic attack and the results indicated "moderate inferior repolarization disturbance" and I was wondering what that meant
It also indicated consider ischemia or LV overload - but also said negative T in aVF and negative T in III

Brief Answer:
It may be normal in young person.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX

Moderate inferior repolarisation disturbance means there may be reduced blood supply to part of the heart muscle (such as due to narrow coronary artery). It could also be due to left ventricular overload.
There are also other possibilities.Moderate inferior repolarisation abnormality in heart may be normal in young people like you.It is not necessarily a sign of disease. However,it is important to know clinical details of patient.

I don't think you have any serious illness.
You need proper clinical examination and investigations.
You need investigations like routine hemogram,RBS(Random blood sugar),LFT(Liver function test),RFT(Renal function test),Lipid profile,ECHO,Stress ECG.Further investigations can be done if needed.

If these investigations are normal then there is nothing to be worried about.

Thank you for your response. Would high anxiety and heart rate cause this result? My EKG also indicated sinus tachycardia (high heart rate but regular rhythm) and negative T in aVF and negative T in III.
