Brief Answer:
HB chromatography can be done to rule out thalasemia minor.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

Your CBC report suggest hypochromic microcytic anemia.

It can be due to iron deficiency anemia or beta thalasemia minor most likely.

You should go for HB chromatography test. It gives you exact idea whether you have beta thalasemia minor or not.

For iron deficiency anemia serum iron and ferritine level should be checked.

No need to stop your folvite tablet for chromatography or iron test.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic.
Wish you a very good health.

Brief Answer:
Its name is transferrin saturation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

Test for saturation is transferrin saturation.
It is < 10% in iron deficiency anemia.

Ferritine measures iron storage. It is storage form of iron.

Most commonly iron, TIBC & ferritine is prescribed to diagnose iron deficiency anemia.
