What Does Multiple Negative Rapid HIV Test Post Exposure Indicate?

Question: I have tested HIV with rapid HIV test after 3 years of been exposed ... At least I tested four times and all report s are negative...but I am still scared... Should I go for any further test..
Plz give me answer fast...I m in great tension

Thanks for writing in to us.

Since you got tested 3 years after HIV risk exposure and results are negative then you do not have HIV. HIV test done at least 6 months from date of probable exposure is enough and if the results are negative at 6 months then a person does not have the infection. Further testing is not required in your case. Please do not worry.

And I can lead normal sex life with my wife..
And have a healthy child in future

Results of HIV testing is always mentioned as
(i) REACTIVE (positive) if the patient has HIV
(ii) NON REACTIVE (negative) if the patient does not have HIV

If your test results show non reactive means you do not have HIV. Since the other doctor has written that you are negative for HIV it means you do not have HIV.
