What Does An Enlarged Veinm On Left Arm Indicate?

Question: Left arm (inner elbow where it bends) has an enlarged vein. Small amount of pain when I bend arm otherwise ok. Felt this way upon waking this morning. Should I be concerned? DVT??

Brief Answer: more likely to be thrombophlebitis Detailed Answer: Hi, Firstly DVT is very very rare in arms, its more common in legs. Second, DVT involves deep veins, if you are seeing it then its superficial vein. Also DVT causes moderate to severe pain with swelling of the limb, which is not there in your case. Based on your description, it seems more likely to be superficial thrombophlebitis. A good clinical examination under broad day light will help your doctors confirm the possibility.
