What Does A Sore Growth Near The Tonsils Indicate?

default
Posted on Tue, 24 Oct 2017
Question: I have a horizontal hard growth on my right tonsil area. I can feel it when I put my fingers under my jaw area and when I put my fingers on that tonsil. I can move it a bit and it pops sometimes if I open my mouth too wide. I've had it for maybe 3 years now and I think it's gotten worse but that might just be in my mind. I've been to see three separate doctors in three separate countries. One said it was just part of my bone. One said he didn't feel anything abnormal. One said I just had swollen tonsils and ordered a ultrasound which the doctor said didn't show anything. I think maybe because I am 28 and healthy, they don't take me seriously. I know it's not "nothing." It's constantly sore and I have to adjust my head a lot because it gets uncomfortable. My girlfriend has to constantly tell me to stop touching it but it is not comfortable to just leave it. Please help me! I can show you the ultrasound and a picture inside my mouth.

Brief Answer:
Tonsillar pathology

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the information.
It is an enlarged tonsil and nothing else. you should relax. it doesn't look like malignancy at all.
As only one tonsil is enlarged that might be alarming you. In case of doubt get a Contrast enhanced Ct scan done to rule out any pathology.
Any further questions are always welcome.
Take care
Thanks and regards
