Question: My son has developed a skin growth just above the right eye ( under the eye brow) that doesn't irrirate him but looks to be growing. Could you please suggest the root cause or remedies. Plus his skin gets the frackles and they grow during the exposutre to sun. In our view it is more than 6 months old.
Could you pelase suggest the alternatives to prevent frackles and more importantly to control skin growth and to remove it.
I will be uploading the image as well.
Brief Answer:
Skin growth and freckles

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic,
The skin growth could be an infection like viral warts or molluscum contagiosum. You have a feature to upload the images by yourself at the right side of the query page, please utilize that so that I can answer your query better. You can also send the image as attachment to YYYY@YYYY , with the subject as 'Attn: Dr. Johny Chacko'.
Freckles is a pigmentary disorder mainly due to sunlight and occurs in the fairer skin types. It usually becomes prominent during summer or during periods of excessive sun exposure. Sun protection and sunscreen application is the main treatment. As he is only 12 years old, he can apply a physical sunscreen containing zinc oxide (eg: Suncros soft ) during mornings. He can apply a lightening cream containing kojic acid at night over freckles (Eg : Kojivit/ Kojiglo gel). Please get it prescribed by your primary care physician.

Hello,
Welcome back.
The black spots look like freckles. The treatment suggested by me in the previous answer holds good and you may follow it.
However in the photograph the nodule above right eye is not clear. You need to take a close up picture with good clarity only of the lesion and please send it.
Take care.
Brief Answer:
Nodule

Hello,
Welcome back,
Again the photo is out of focus. I could appreciate the size and color, but not the surface.
Is there a central small umbilication (crater like centre) ? If so it is a viral infection called molluscum contagiosum which is very common in children. You need to visit a dermatologist for removal of molluscum. There are different modalities of treatment. A simple extraction with needle and forceps under local anesthesia will be the best in this case.
Hope this helped,
Take care.
Hello Doc,
Sorry about it. Will arrange to send it today evening.
Yes, the context and analysis helps.
I am attaching another image (T eye) which is much better than previous one...However it may not answer the queries raised by you in the previous response..I will anyway take a closer pic. It looks to be a central small umblication...
Best Regards,
XXXX
Brief Answer:
Molluscum contagiosum
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
If there is a central small umbilication, then it is very likely to be Molluscum contagiosum caused by molluscipox virus, an infection common in children. There is a chance of spread and it is better to remove it as early as possible. Vacation time is a good time to do it.
Take care.
