What Does A Changed Reading After 10 Minute Mark On Stress Test Indicate?
Question: I recently reached the 10 minute mark on stress test
After that we had to stop because of ekg changed
Is this normal
Hi doctor I appreciate your input
My echocardiogram was normal
Should I be concerned about abnormal ekg after the ten minutes ?
Does it mean I could have less significant blockage
And if so what can be done what type of medication can I take
I am just very concerned I thought since I had a normal echocardiogram that I was fine
Please help

Stress test duration is usually symptom-limited, and the test is discontinued ,if ST-segment depression >0.2 mV (2 mm), or the development of a ventricular tachyarrhythmia.
If the stress test is positive-
Information gained from an exercise test can be enhanced by
Nuclear perfusion scan
Cardiac MR scan
Cardiac PET scan
Images obtained immediately after cessation of exercise to detect regional ischemia are compared with those obtained at rest to confirm reversible ischemia and regions of persistently absent uptake that signify infarction
Stress echocardiography, like stress myocardial perfusion imaging, is more sensitive than exercise electrocardiography in the diagnosis of IHD.
Pending further evaluation one can take anti-platelet drug like baby aspirin & statin as primary prevention.
