Brief Answer:
Could be old healed lesions.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting the query on HCM. After going through your query, I would like to comment the following:

1. Apical fibrotic strands are most of the times sequelea od old healed lesions.
2. If you do not have any respiratory symptoms, no acive management will be required.
3. Your occupational (dust exposure) history and smoking history is significant if present.
4. As such mostly there is no need to worry regarding fibrotic lesions. A regular follow up with your physician atleast on 6 monthly basis till 2 years or if symptoms present, is required.

Thank you Dr for immedite response.
I understand it is a minor issue. But currently it has an impact on my fitness certificate to get abroad VISA. I have to reappear (another x-ray) for medical test in 60days from now, will this symptom appear in the X-ray again?
What precaution i need to follow so that this won't appear / minimize the size ?
Is any medication for this?
Much appreciated.

Hi,
Thanks for the follow up query. After going through your follow up query, I would like to comment the following:

1. The findings of fibrotic scar may remain life long.
2. After a period of 2 months , they are going to monitor the progression of the scar and in all likelihood it is going to be static.
3. You may get fitness opinion from a chest physician from Government hospital/ Government medical college and submit the same to the concerned authorities.
4. If you have no symptoms or disease, no medications are required.

I hope I have answered your query. I will be glad to answer follow up queries if any. Please accept my answer if you have no follow up queries.
