What Do These HIV Test Reports Indicate?
Question: I belong to XXXXXXX I have travelled to another country (20/Oct/2016- 22/Oct), and a shared dormitory [for stay].
I have some doubt that some one injected to my left hand while I was sleeping..
Some needle kind of mark & blood marks was found . Not sure may be happened otherwise during my busy travel , I might have hurted some where.
So I urgently need a HIV Test. Please advice me what preparation should I do for that.
What all tests are involved. I am age 44, Give me info in detail. How long it takes to get the result.
As on Dec 1, its 42 days. I am feeling joint pain in hands & legs and back of neck. I googled and understood some info, and went for
1 & 2 NON REACTIVE ==> INDEX 0.336
What should I understand from this. Is this a high value even though its NON REACTIVE. Does this INDEX increase daily.
At this stage any medicines need to used to suppress if any possibilities of VIRUS etc..
At this stage do u recommend, supplemental assays like Western bolt for HIV 1 & 2 .

Dont be worried as your first test is found negative .

I suggest you to dont be worried as your test is nonreactive indicate you dont have any antibiody to HIV virus .
second prophylactic treatment should be started as soon as possible after expouser within 48 hrs . so presently there is no prophylactic medication available .
however wester blot is more sensitive and specific test so you can go for that .
you should also test for HIV 1 and 2 after 3 and 6 month .

I have enquired the Micro Biologist regarding my doubt, so she recommended for some test like CCR, so I googled what it means, and I got some names of test which I have listed below..... doctor does the below relevant to me , what does it mean.
Are You Genetically Resistant To HIV?
• Get tested for CCR5 Delta32
• Get tested for APOBEC3G
• Get tested for HLA-B27 and HLA-B57
• Get tested for DRB1*13 and DQB1*
• Get tested for MTHFR C677T and A1298C

dear sir I don't know why your microbiologist recommend you such test. I never recommend this test to my patient for HIVdiagnosis .
In XXXXXXX we follow the NACO guideline for HIV diagnosis and it do not recommend such test .
the different test you found on goggle are mostly to diagnose some autoimmune diseases .these are not recommended for HIV diagnosis , as there are different modalities available to diagnose it .
so don't be worried and just follow my instruction, as your first test was non reactive .
