What Do My Lab Test Reports Indicate?
Question: Hi doctor I got my quad test report today and trisomy - 18 shows increased risk 1:72
Which was not there in my 1 trimester screening which showed 1:1692
Will like to have your views on it also
Ultrasound is fine
Also by mistake blood report screening agency has written my age 33 years where as
I am 32 years old will like your advice on it.
Also attaching report for ur views

A risk of 1:72 is indeed high and confirmatory shall be amniocentesis for FISH and karyotyping. What is er period of gestation. please furnish reports.

The reports indicate low risk for downs syndrome and negative neural tube defect but trisomy 18 risk is fairly high , so the next best step would be to undertake an amniocentesis procedure where foetal cells can be subjected to karyotyping and it can be conclusively deduced of the foetus has trisomy 18 or not.

So does normally such condition relate to trisomy or not also amnio is considered risky is there anothwr option for it

In any case amniocentesis is the only option for conclusive results, rest all would just be speculations, though you may opt for a repeat quadruple test again.
