Brief Answer:
Can be due to injured ligament.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The locking of the leg can be due to an unstable knee joint due to an injured knee. If the brace is not helping then only a surgical repair can help. It is best to consult an orthopedician and get an MRI scan done for proper diagnosis and repair.
I hope this answers your query.

I have had an all surgery which tore. the ortho did not want to do a second acl surgery and ordered a custom brace. I am recovering from lumbar surgery now 15 weeks post op. I had this issue before the recent surgery. the act repair was 2 years ago. the locking up is intetmittent. I shuffle when I stand and try to walk. from sitting position I have to stand and force my leg to move. a neurologist told me it could be one set of Parkinson which I do not buy. your thoughts are t reqissued especially about the last statement

Brief Answer:
Regular physiotherapy can help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The locking restricted to one leg is less likely to be due to Parkinson's. You need regular physiotherapy exercises to strengthen the muscles around the knee to avoid this problem.
Hope my answer is helpful.
