Hi and welcome.
If the part of rectum is removed then this is common effect of surgery since mucous and some feces may form in this left part of anus and rectum and it may persist for few months. You should have short rectal enema to wash it out. If whole rectum and anus are removed and you feek such pressure then it may be wound infection or abscess and you should see doctor for further evaluation. Wish you good health. Regards

I have no rectum and my anus does produce some pinkish brown translucent matter about 1/2 tsp every few days when I put a tremendous pressure on my anus. I have also tried hemorodial cream and suppositories, non work. this has now gone on sine dec 2015. Would a nerve cream or a deadening nerve shot not do the trick ? By the way I am a retired nurse, and in all my years of practice never saw or heard of this ailment before.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
This is described condition after Hartmann procedure. In most cases, there is constant mucous secretion and when it accumulates too much,it may cause pain till it is expelled. mucous may also cause chronic rectal wall inflammation and in this case sulphasalazine supposutories may be helpful. However,if there us constant pain then it may indicate disorders of rectal stump such as dehiscence or pelvic abscess and you should do CTscan to rule this out.
