What Do SGPT Level Of 2880 And SGOT Level Of 8850 Indicate?
Question: sir, i am XXXX. i am here to ask about report of my brother's son age of 10 year S.G.P.T. range 2880 iu/l and S.G.O.T. range is 8850 iu/l please advice me what should i do

Increased SGOT and SGPT may indicate liver injury.It may be due to many reasons like hepatitis,alcohol intake,altered lipid profile,auto immune causes,drug toxicity etc.
Patient may need few more investigations like routine hemogram,random blood sugar,lipid profile,renal function test,urine RE/ME,viral markers,ANA estimation,ultrasound of abdomen.
I suggest tablet ursodeoxycholic acid 300 mg twice daily for three months to my patients.It helps in regeneration of liver cells.
Patient may need few more medicines after complete investigations.
