Brief Answer: Mucosal injury. Examination required Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for using XXXXXXX I went through the query, attached reports and understood your concern. Since you have allergic rhinitis to dust and sulphur and had DNS correction the current complaint of blood in nasal secretion may be due to mucosal injury in the nose which is the most common cause of nasal bleeding. Usually due to trauma or increased sneezing the mucosal injury happens and then leads to bleeding. So with rest the damaged mucosa will reunite and there wont be any bleeding. Local drugs like steroids (flexonase) can also cause mucosal atrophy and hence bleeding. So I advice you to consult your doctor (ENT specialist) once to evaluate and further management. Your PFT seems to be OK but you are required to do breathing exercises every day for minimum of 20-30 min which will improve your lung condition. For now you can continue the odimont (montelukast) 10 mg and antihistamine (allegra). Stop the nasal drops/spray and consult your doctor. If more bleeding then apply pressure which will help in stooping bleeding. Hope this information helps you. Feel free to ask if any related query and I will be glad to answer them. Wish you good health and faster recovery. Regards

Brief Answer: avoid allergens. montelukast. pranayama Detailed Answer: Hi XXXXXXX Thanks for writing back. Breathing exercises have its role in helping you to increase lung capacity. There are breathing exercises like pranayama which you can practice. Try to take in more air for longer time and hold for maximum time possible and then leave slowly for longer time. You practice this in both nostrils. As explained earlier mucosal injury is not serious but may sometimes cause more bleeding. With your symptoms of running nose when exposed to dust, suggests allergic problem. Sneezing and running nose are the body's responseoto the allergens(dust). You need to avoid exposure to dust and also with your doctor's advice you can have montelukast tab every day once which has some role in prevention of allergic reaction. Yes breathing exercises have a role in the management of allergic rhinitis. You need to avoid sleeping under fan, mop the floor every day before going to bed and sun dry the clothes every day. These will help you. regards

Brief Answer: local trauma due to sneezing, handling Detailed Answer: Hi thanks for the query. Occasional bleeding may be due to many causes. Most commomly due to handling, or due to sneezing and occasionally due to vasodilation during rhinitis. In your case the cause may be due to rhinitis which leads to bleeding from the anastomosis point (BLOOD VESSELS MEET). So to prevent this you avoid any topical steroid which cause mucosal atrophy, avoid handling and also keep your nose clean during rhinitis to prevent hardening of nasal secretion. Keep away from allergens (dust). Hope this information helps you. Feel free to ask if any further information. Regards
