What Could Be Causing Sudden Horrible Cramps And Pain In My Upper Right Thigh Behind My Knee?
Question: I am a 67 year old white female that has an active lifestyle. The two weeks I have come to have horrible cramps and pain in my upper right thigh behind my knee. I walk daily with my dog and do pilates once a week. I had a torn meniscus operation in 1996 and have been fine since that time. I suffered two minor strokes in 2011 and am on Eliquis, Metropol, Crestor, baby aspirin and prozac. I eat healthy, do not smok,e but indulge in two glasses of wine daily. What could be causing this pain?

Brief Answer:
Arterial cause of pain has to ruled out
Detailed Answer:
Hello Ma'am
I can certainly understand your concern
I have worked through your attached query in detail
As per your symptoms the possibility of an arterial cause of pain should be ruled out. For this I advise you to get an ultrasound Doppler of both lower limbs.
Likewise it's advisable to revisit your orthopaedic surgeon to clinically test your knees to assess your ligament and cartilage structures.
Meanwhile a short course of oral analgesic medication will be helpful.
Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe these tests and medication to you.
Post your further queries if any
Thank you
