Question: Got my upper bicuspid tooth extracted 11 days ago. Today the hole seems deeper than before and white stuff is still there but more darker pink is showing around it. Should i be worried about dry socket st yhis point or is it normal for hole to seem deeper. I have been obsessivly looking at it daily. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Please do not worry about it. You may just forget about it.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

The socket can be only as deep as the root. Usually and gradually it fills up. You would have to be patient. It probably only feels deep since it has not been filled yet. However, if you are sceptical, you can talk directly to the dentist who have done the extraction and he would be able to reassure you properly.

Hope that helps.

Brief Answer:
It could not have become deeper in a day.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Sorry for not being able to respond back earlier.

Please do not worry - it will gradually get filled. Although not directly related, I would insist you to refrain from drinking or smoking, if feasible. These could indeed have a negative effect on the healing, though these are not going to create a deeper cavity or something like that.

Hope that helps.
