What Causes When Prozac Dosage Increased From 40mg To 80mg For Paranoid Personality Disorder?

Question: I am 3 months postpartum and 4 weeks ago had my Prozac increased from 40mg to 80mg. It has made my good days better but bad days worse, so my doctor is going to have me go back down to 4
0mg for 1 week, then start taking Zoloft instead. I have been on Prozac for the past 4 years, what should I expect?
As for the past: in 2006 (I was a sophomore in high school) I was having bad depression/Anxiety and got admitted to the psychiatric part of the hospital when I threatened to harm myself. I was there for a week and a half and they released me with Prozac and I think my diagnosis was Manic Depression. I started going to a psychiatrist who changed my medication right away (I think it had been only a week or less that I was on Prozac and it wasn't working) to something else, I forget what but the next 2 years I was switched so many times to so many different medications and diagnosis changes (anxiety, OCD, Bipolar, ADHD) and actually ended up being put back on Prozac but waited longee results this time. So I ended up taking Prozac again and after a while I got switched to something else but when I got pregnant with my daughter in 2010, I was put back on Prozac 40mg and stayed on it until 4 weeks ago when I got my dose changed. I had symptoms of PPD after I had my daughter but never mentioned it. I had my son on 11-27-2014 and about 4 weeks ago realized I was having symptoms of PPD so that's why my dose got upped to 80mg.

Brief Answer:
Dont change meds

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I can understand your concerns.

psychiatric medications take a long time to show effect and it is not a good idea to change dosages or medications.

Though there might be a little change in the level of your depression or mental state after pregnancy it is not a reason to make drastic changes to medication.

i will advise you to continue your prozac at 40 mg only.
