What Causes Weak Urine Stream, Post-urination Dribble And Frequent Urination?

Question: I am a 73-yr-old male. Long time slow urine, post-urination dribble, frequent urination problems. Doc did a scope through the penis to see if I was a good candidate for “a little laser work” to open the urinary tract. I am. He also saw a very small black spot on the bladder and I also saw it on the screen. He said he did not know for sure what it was. Had kind of bluish swirls in the center. He wants to biopsy the small spot when he does the laser work. Should I be concerned about bladder cancer?

Brief Answer:
Need to have a look at the scope reports....

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

I understand your concerns.

1. Having long-time-slow urine flow, with post-urination dribble with frequent urination problems are indicative for possible stricture of urinary flow.

As your doctor did the scope, it means that he has found where the stricture is and laser will open it.

2. Now, accidentally, he has seen the black spot on the bladder. Can you please provide the full report of ultrasound or any other examination you did, so I can analyze myself before running into final conclusions?

We cannot give for sure it is a cancer. It might be a tumoral growth, commonly occurring at your age. Biopsy will give the final answer if it is a benign or malign growth?

3. Next, prostate problems are often associated with the current urinary problems you've been facing. I need to have a look at the scope report to see at what condition your prostate is presented?

Looking forward to have the requested reports in!
Thank you!
