Brief Answer:
It can be acute exacerbation of conditions like chronic dacryocystitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.

I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist with training in Medical retina and I will be answering your question.

I reviewed your history.

These symptoms of watery mucus discharge from the eye once in five years can be because of acute exacerbation of chronic conditions like chronic dacryocystitis.
This usually occurs because of obstruction to the flow of tears from eye to nose via nasolacrimal duct.

This can be diagnosed by simple clinical examination and tests like lacrimal syringing to check the patency of the lacrimal drainage system.

The treatment is by the use of antibiotic eye drops like ciprofloxacin eye drops.

Hence I advice you to start treatment with antibiotic eye drops and do consult your eye doctor for examination and further treatment accordingly.

Hope this answers your question.

Thank you
With regards
