Brief Answer:
Switching back to breast milk should suffice

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. Let me first ask whether the baby is exclusively breast fed or whether formula feeds are being given. Formula feeds can be difficult to digest and may make the child throw up. In such a case switching back to breast milk should provide relief. Moreover, you should burp the baby for at least 15-20 mins after each feed. All you need to do is to hold the baby head end elevated for this duration. The extra air taken causes distention and regurgitation leading to throwing up. Proper burping will ensure its escape and the milk will not regurgitate back from the stomach to the food pipe. Breast milk is a better alternative to pedialyte and would be more preferable. Otherwise you can give pedialyte. Give it sip by sip as much as the child takes.

Let me know if I could help further.

she is not being breast fed at all.. only takes formula(similac ... pro-advance). so, should I dilute the pedialyte or not? If so, how much?

and, should I give the pedialyte to her instead of her formula; or should I alternate it with the formula?

Brief Answer:
Pedialyte is not a substitute for formula

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Pedialyte is not a substitute for formula. It only replenishes the list salts and fluids. You need to prepare Pedialyte as directed (one small sachwt in 200 ml water and no more). You may dilute the formula a bit more.
