What Causes Visible Purple Veins On Penis During Erection?

Posted on Wed, 27 May 2015
Question: it has been about a week that i feel painful sensations in my penis, the location varies a lot sometimes it's in the middle, others it's in the head, i've noticed when i'm erect that i have a lot of small veins that turned purple which wasn't there before, and the other big veins were bigger and more visible, i don't have a painful erection, the pain is always there and with the same intensity it feels like an itch or burning, i have no special pain when i pee, and my urine is normal so i guess its not an UTI, i stopped masturbating about 3/4 days ago and there was no major change, the pain is here most of the day, i can upload pictures of the veins if needed

Brief Answer:
It must be examined by the expert to have a clear diagnosis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

I have read your whole query and will be answered by me.

It would be good if you can take a clinical photograph and upload for a better judgement.

As you said the intensity of pain is like feeling itchy or burning then it could be due to balanitis or balanoposthitis but it must be examined by naked eye of an expert for which you can consult general surgeon or dermatologist for proper diagnosis first.

Your veins visibility after penis erection should not be the issue here as it is quite possible to have this kinds of veins could be seen by the individual when penis is in erect condition and here, you do not have a painful erection as stated by you.

If your urinalysis has come normal then it rules out UTI completely.

You can go for symptomatic treatment like antiseptic cream or ointment with steroids topical application over glans to prevent infection and inflammation with vitamin b complex and folic acid orally.

If you have any query further then feel free to ask me.
