What Causes Unilateral Pain, Tingling Sensation And Numbness In The Body?

default
Posted on Thu, 10 Nov 2016
Question: Hi I have nerve pain that over a 3 week period has moved from my lower back , to excruciating left hip pain then 2 days ago to my knee and now calf and I'm unable to bear any weight on it . Also numbness and tingling in left arm and strange 'tidal mark ' bruising that follows the pain , ( I've never mentioned the bruising to docs ) X-ray and ultrasound of hip show nothing . CT scan shows disc herniation L4/5 but doc says that shouldn't cause this much pain ! she sent me to a physio , as I can't walk unaided , let alone return to work
He did some tests and says he thinks I need to see a neurologist ... Any ideas ? My husband want to take me to the ER today , I just keep hoping each day that I'll get better , but it's got worse . Thank XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
I think you may be having neuropathy

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. Pain with tingling numbness in one side of the body is usually due to neuropathy. In this condition there is deficiency of B12 or nerve compression. Before I advised you any further I would like to know little detail of the illness.
1.Do you have Thyroid or Diabetes or smoking habit?
2.Have you taking any medications since long time?
3.Did you get any other investigations apart from you just mentioned?
Please send me answers of these questions. I will try my best to help you.
thanks
