Brief Answer:
Needs ECG and further may need evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello there,

Welcome to healthcaremagic. I understand your concern.

Tingling sensation and warm sensations (commonly called paraesthesia) could be due to transient physiological variations like anxiety induced, electrolytes variations, drugs etc or signs of many underlying systemic illnesses like thyroid disease, diabetes, hypertension, anemia, nerve related pathology, vitamin deficiency etc.

But considering the localisation and history of hypertension, dreadly myocardial ischemia needs to be ruled out initially.

1)Is this the first time or had you already experienced such sensations ?
2)Name the medications and since when you are taking for hypertension?
3)How well is your Blood pressure control ?
4)Do you smoke or consume alcohol heavily?

With the limited information,I would advice you to undergo a basic cardiac check with ECG to rule out any signs of myocardial ischemia..

Testing for sugar(FBS,PPBS),thyroid profile, complete hemogram )to rule out any underlying causes. In mean time, you can take B-complex,zinc supplements to see whether the symptoms improve..

Discuss this with your treating doctor and get evaluated especially if the symptoms are occurring frequently.

Reply back with the needed information..

Awaiting your reply.

I am taking lotrel 10/20
This is the first time ever that I have this feeling
My chest feels warm and if I think about it feels even warmer
I do not smoke and I drink regularly but mostly red wine
My blood pressure is under control 118/78
The tingling on my left arm is mostly from the elbow down to the wrist
And even the upper part of my neck feels warm when I start thinking about it
I have 2 little kids and I am kind of scared,

Brief Answer:
ECG on safer side..

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.

Thanks for the updated information

You need not be worried much until anything is proven as this could be just drug induced or any other benign issue..The drug Lotrel (combination of amlodipine and benazepril) may be related to your anxiety and also the paraesthesias..For me it seems unlikely to be an ischemia related..However it is advisable to visit your treating physician for a basic ECG on safer side especially if the sensations are persistently there and also considering a dose reduction if needed be.
Hope this answers your query.

Hello again

Don't get distracted by reading informations in internet and it only drives your anxious level up which can worsen the symptoms. As I already suggested, visit your treating doctor or ER to get ECG and also for evaluating other causes by checking your blood electrolytes etc instead of thinking what it could be..There are a list of disorders with which this can happen..But at present, you have to rule out this MI possibility on safer side at least to get relieved from your increasing anxiousness..Hope this helps.Take care.
