What Causes Tightness In Neck Post Face Lift?

default
Posted on Thu, 12 May 2016
Question: I had a lower neck/face lift two years ago. About two months ago, I noticed a significant feeling of tightness in the front sides of my neck...followed with AM dizziness (for five minutes or so) right after I sit up in bed. My arms feel a slight weakness also. I am 67...very active and go to gym three times a week....am taking a small break until I get this figured out. Had blood work done last week...physician appt. is a few weeks away but no phone calls have been made to me about my results...I am also a retired lab tech. Any ideas on where to start first??

Brief Answer:
Dizziness might be related to fluctuations in Blood pressure

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am
welcome to health care magic, I have gone through your question very diligently and I will try to help you out in best possible way.

Since you had face lift and neck lift 2 years back, chances of any complication liek fibrosis is less likely after 2 year

Dizziness and weakness in arm is a matter of concern and might not be related to face lift/neck lift procedure.

In my t you should immediately visit a nearest emergency room for recording of blood pressure and EKG to rule out high blood pressure and heart disease.

Dizziness might be related to fluctuations in Blood pressure

I do currently take two meds for borderline bp...a 5 mg. tab of Amlodipine daily, and a small amt. of Atenolol...like one half of a 25 mg. tab daily. The dizziness goes away after a couple minutes upon waking. I have taken my bp at home...it doesn't seem to be a problem...I've just had labs done for my annual physical and my appt. is in two weeks to see my MD. EKG is part of my physical so that will be done soon. I wonder if I strained the neck muscles doing my weight routine at the gym...I'm taking a break in workouts and doing some simple flexing exercises to stretch the neck muscles....

Brief Answer:
Continuous BP monitoring, muscle relaxant if you are having muscle spasm

Detailed Answer:
Hello
welcome again
Fluctuations in BP can lead to Dizziness, so keep on checking it and keep it under control.

Yes, there is a possibility of muscle sprain or spasm during exercise which also can lead to pain or dizziness at times in case of intense muscle spasm.

If you are having pain and spasm in neck muscles, you can take any muscle relaxant like chorzoxazone or tizanidine group of drugs with acetaminophen.

Hope I could answer your question
Please do let me know if you have any more queries, I will be happy to help you
Best wishes
