What Causes Throat And Ear Pain Along With Nose Bleeding?

Question: Hi, My name is XXXX (Age:25). I'm having throat and ear pain on the right side and having blood in the nose mucus at morning.. any remedies?

Thank you for your query.

1. You have a sore throat and Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (URTI). The ear pain is usually referred pain if you ear drum is normal.

2. Hence it necessary to get examined.

3. Slight blood in the mucus from the nose is common in URTI and no cause for worry.

4. Medication includes antibiotics, anti - inflammation, anti - allergy medications, medicated mouthwash, rest, hydration and bland food. You may try household remedies such as turmeric on warm.milk.

Thanks for the reply.

I have Cetzine tablet. can i take it for allergy?

Whether i can continue my usual medication for dust allergy (Xyzol & nasal spray) ?. I'm a occasional smoker. Is that the reason for URTI?

I had GERD 2 years back & got treated for that. But nowadays I'm getting heartburn because of acid reflux. I have Pan-D tablet. Whether i can take that for now, before consulting a doctor? If u have any home remedies for that, please tell me.

Also, please tell me in brief, diet to be followed.

Cetirizine is fine. Stop nasal spray, smoking. Anti-reflux ok. Bland diet.

Hi,

Thank you for writing back.

1. Yes, you may take the cetirizine tablet once a day for allergy.

2. It will be better to stop the nasal spray during an acute infection. Xyzal is (levocetirizine) which is similar to cetirizine. Taking both and the spray may cause excessive nasal dryness and the blood in the nasal mucus.

3. Smoking should be stopped, especially since you have URTI.

4. The anti-reflux treatment can be taken with the above treatment.

5. Diet should not be sour, spicy or oily. Keep yousrelf hydrated.
