Brief answer...could be a side effect of ciprofloxacin
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
CIPROFLOXACIN is known to cause increased fragility of blood vessels resulting in leakage of some blood and causing bruises. In addition there might be some trauma ( may be a trivial ) which along with ciprofloxacin has resulted in a bruise associated with the swelling.
Since this is a single episode and there is no past history of bruises,it can be safely ignored.Just do some local icing twice a day for few days. You should be all right very shortly. There is no need for any medication.
In case if you start getting recurrent bruises then you would need to consult your doctor and require some blood investigations.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
