Brief Answer:
stenosis or narrowing of the ureter causes enlargement of kidneys

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Stenosis or narrowing of the ureter can be associated with enlargement of the kidneys due to the back up of flow from the kidneys to the ureter.

This is one of the known causes of enlargement of the kidneys.

The blood tests would likely take a look at the kidneys. Blood tests such as creatinine or bun would assess kidney function.
Urine tests to assess GFR (glomerular filtration rate which assesses the rate of blood flow through the kidneys).

These tests would determine if the swelling/enlargement is associated with decreased function.

The CT scan would also determine if there are any further changes

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
