What Causes Swelling And Fluid Accumulation In The Scrotum?

default
Posted on Mon, 18 Apr 2016
Question: First of all, I am a 62 yo male in good health. For the past month I have been experiencing swelling. I have gone to the clinic 3 times and the Dr. finally put me on Lasix and potassium. I saw the Dr. yesterday and he looked at the size of my scrotum and told me I need to go to the hospital. What is the size of my scrotum indicative of? Why is it now so important.

Brief Answer:
HAs there been a change in the size of your scrotum?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this swelling that you have reported. I have reviewed your information fully and the fluid accumulation could be suggestive of a possible heart, kidney, or liver problem. I will suggest that you get it evaluated by a doctor to pinpoint the cause and treat accordingly. Probably, the scrotum must have increased in size as well and that for sure suggests the severity of this disease and the need for evaluation and management. If possible, upload an image of the scrotum for review as well.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.
