default
Posted on Mon, 3 Oct 2016
Question: I recently had left knee replacement surgery (8/6/2016) and thought I was progressing well. I am XXXXXXX with a cane and can walk without the cane also. I have become more active in the past few days. I was prescribed xarelto daily for 4 weeks and I took the last pill yesterday. I am experiencing stinging pain in my left leg in the area around the wound, warmth, no swelling. Should I go to an ER?

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

How was your day?
Hope this message finds you in good health.

I have gone through your query in detail and understand your concern.

it has been almost 3 months after your surgery and i find no reason to get such stinging pain in the wound area suddenly after being alright till now.
Hope you havent had any knee sprain,or a twist recently.
If the area is warm , it seems that the area is surely inflammed due to which its warm.

i suggest you to take anti-inflammatory tablets for 3-5 days and see the progress of the pain. If the pain remains or aggravates, go to an ER.

apply a local anti-inflammatory gel.. avoid hot fomentation.. Continue ice packs that you are already doing

You should eventually get back to normal in coming few days.Nothing to worry about, as long as i am there to help you.

I hope your question has been answered.
