What Causes Sprain In Lower Back After Taking Bath With Cold Water?

Question: Hello,
I usually bath with cold water. But this morning it was a bit chilled and after bath immediately I felt a severe sprain in my lower lumber back. I kept on streaching but it aint of any help. I am observing restricted movements especially cannot sit down.
could you suggest some remedy to get back to normal.

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Due to the cold water it seems that your back muscles have undergone a spasm. The best way to relieve this spasm is to lie down and do hot compress on it for 15 minutes thrice a day. You can also have an electrolyte rich fluid like Garotade or fresh fruit juices.
In case the pain and spasm are persistent then do get a muscle relaxant prescribed from your physician.
You can use analgesic gels like Volini gel also. Exercise is not advisable in the times of acute pain.
