What Causes Sharp Pain In The Left Clavicle Area?
Question: What is the cause a sharpish pain in rhe left clavicle area, that is relieved after belching?

Thanks for posting in HCM.
There is complex nervous distribution in our body.
So whenever there is diaphragm irritation either because of distension of stomach (most common cause) or any other reason it will give rise to pain to left side of shoulder that is clavicular region.
Hence you are feeling relieved after burping as the distension of stomach goes down causing decreased diaphragm irritation.
So there is air trapping occuring which is causing stomach distension.
There are few advices you can use to reduce it-
1. Eat your food slowly and do not keep much gap in between morsels you take during a meal. It causes excessive air swallowing which causes air trapping.
2. Avoid soft drinks or aerated drinks as it contains lot of gas which gets trapped.
3. Avoid chewing gums for the same reason of swallowing too much air.
4. Do not immediately lie down after you have food. Wait for half hour after food and then lie down.
5. If it doesnt help then taking antacids after food will also help you a lot.
