Brief Answer:
Probably nothing serious

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question. Welcome to HCM. I understand your concern.

Based on the information you provided, I do not think this related to anything serious. There are a lot of structures in that area, but the throbbing pain is not characteristic if they suffer from a pathological disorder. Also, I would rule out, with high probability, the heart or lung origin of thia form of pain.

In my oponion, this may be a pain derived from the locomotory structures situated in the area, such as bones, cartilages or muscles, an acute soreness of which, would explain the pain. Maybe from bad positioning of the neck during work or sleep. It will, however, probably go away spontaneously, but, if you are worried, try a short course of over-the counter non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), for three to five days.

I hope this is helpful. I am happy to help, if you have follow-up questions.

Best regards,
Dr. Meriton
