What Causes Severe Pain In Ear And Arm?
Question: hi I have had for a long time a serious pain in my right ear down my neck and into my arm
and feel awful I keep getting this and my head serious hurts it all seems to be on the
right hand side of my body and I am in a lot of pain this has being going on for at least
3 years and I cant get any answers to it please help

it happens a couple times in a month and is serious
painful , not related to anxiety or nausea as far as I know.
It starts from the top of my head on the right hand side
of body into neck, shoulder , shoulder blade and down right
arm , it sometimes feels sinusey but it is seriously painful
and affects my right eye also , affects all right hand side of upper body .
feels like someone is drilling into my right ear with a drill so painful.
painful , not related to anxiety or nausea as far as I know.

Considering your clinical details,this pain appears to be a variant of migraine or Tension type headache.
Migraine variant can atypically present with pain in neck and shoulder as well.Sometimes Tension type headache(TTH) can also present like this(TTH is not necessarily associated with obvious mental stress). Further,I would also like to get a cervical spine X-ray to look out for degenerative spine changes as pain having its origin in cervical spine can manifest in head also.
For treatment part,if lyrica is working fine,I suggest you to continue with the same.else,you can discuss with your treating physician to put you on the alternative drug like amitriptyline.PLEASE TAKE MEDICINES UNDER A PHYSICIAN'S GUIDANCE ONLY.
